Affective Engagement, Gender Diversity and Employee Performance in the Tanzanian Textile Industry

Employee performance is increasingly recognized as one of the key variables in human resources management, and has been subject increasing interest research by many scholars. Given dynamic volatile business environment, survival any depends on ability its work force to perform well order achieve goals. However, some businesses reality not same, where employees are performing due several factors such low levels affective engagement a lack gender diversity, which considered be crucial that influence employee performance. The observed textile industry Tanzania can partly explained engagement, yet this sector economic welfare country. Most reviewed studies have examined based single dimension. This study investigated considering mediating effect diversity. sample consisted 618 from firms four Tanzanian regions: Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Shinyanga, Simuyu. Multistage sampling technique was employed, descriptive structural equation model were used for data analysis. established had statistically significant, positive employees’ adaptive, contextual task performance, while diversity partial provided recommendations, including suggestion managers should promote an environment fosters emotions, energy, enthusiasm towards their roles.
